Greetings from Chiang Mai!
I’m here! I made it :)
The getting here was not so bad… I’ll tell you about that later. For now, Sawadee khaa!
I am staying in a lovely guesthouse, BaanSongJum, just East of the Mae Ping River, that’s on the East side of Chiang Mai. Nui is a fabulous host that I found through Airbnb. She greeted me warmly and I feel right at home. I am sitting in her lovely courtyard drinking a cup of coffee and listening to the birds (a dove variety and other unknown species), there are chickens next door so I hear the occasional crow by the rooster. Yes, there are Thai squirrels and I saw an amazing lizard run across the yard last night. Plants flourish and orchids are blooming. The koi fish love toast crumbs and it’s so peaceful. This is a little oasis just off the main road.
I’m just about to go out on an adventure to the fruit market and then Wat Umong. I’ll tell you about that tonight!
